Cabin Fever

So we decided last minute, since the kids had some school off, that we would head north to Montana! I was hesitant only because Mr. Tyce hates his carseat and I would be braving it alone with my four kiddos!! We were all so excited and had even decided to not tell my dad that we were coming. Well we did even better than that.. We came a day early and surprised both of them. It's always nice to go home. we hadn't been there since Thanksgiving and Tyce was just a month old then. It was time mom and dad saw the kids again.

We were absolutely spoiled with nice dinners out, trips to the mall, and High School Musical on Ice. Grandpa even decided to join us for HSM. The kids had a great time and the show was really good.

We were not blessed with good weather at all on this trip. The weather on the way up was wet and at times icy! Seriously, it hasn't snowed for weeks and the weekend I decide to brave a road trip by myself it gets yucky!! Well the trip back was not exactly what you would call pleasant either. The first two hours were rain and snow and my windshield wipers decided to not work all that great. This is what was on the car when we stopped at our first stop. I'd never seen anything like it.

The next few hours were white knuckle, white out conditions, with a few fishtails and a 360' into a snow drift. Luckily we had some nice people stop and push us out. I thought the hard part was over and then I drove trhough another white out in Island Park. I stopped at Mack's Inn called Justin and he and a friend drove up to get us!! The last part of the trip was the easiest, but at that point my emotions were shot. Thank heavens for good friends and an amazing, understanding husband!!

We arrived home safely and no one was hurt. Dad says we just have a good story to tell now. When I appologized to the kids after the accident, Jaxson quietly reassured me that that's why they're called accidents, because it was an accident. What a sweet kid!! Thanks mom and dad for a great weekend and next time when we hear there might be some weather, we'll have to camp out for a few more days!!!
