Summer 2009

I'm not sure where to begin. It has been way too long since my last post. I'll try to cover our happenings since my last update. Jaxson's All-star team went to the State playoffs and ended out taking 2nd. Pretty Awesome!! Jaxson then left us and went to Philladelphia with Grammy, Gako and Jayada. They hit all the major sites and had a great time. We were able to have Taylen come to our house for two weeks and the girls had so much fun. I think Taylen did okay out here on "the farm". The whole Hodges clan, except for Jamie and Morgan, came to our neck of the woods this year. We all met up in Island Park and toured Yellowstone. Brandon and Jill rented a beautiful cabin and we enjoyed nature, 4 wheelin and jetsking for a few days. That's the life!! We came home got settled and then headed to Utah for my Grandma Barbara's 80th birthday party. I'm so glad I was able to be there for that and the Warner reuninon. While we were there we found out that my sweet Aunt Mindy was going to donate her kidney the next week to her sister-in-law. We had a great time with Mark and Mindy and Tyler and Laura. Thanks for the room and board!!
School and Football started right after we got home from Utah. We haven't stopped running since. Oh and don't forget dance and gymnastics.
We also started harvesting the garden. I know that's a main reason why I haven't been blogging. My time is spent picking, peeling, canning steamming, and pickling. Oh my! My friend Kim requested my totals so here it goes...
Beans-40 pts and 14 qts
Corn- 21 qt bags frozen
Salsa- 16 qts
Pickles- 20 qts
Pears -60 qts
Peaches- 45 qts
Beets-13 pts and counting
Soup-49 qts (chicken, beef and tomato-beef)So there you have it! I'm not sure we'll have any room in the pantry after I'm done. My food storage is done!!!
